hp pavilion elite hpe-480t
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello guys,

I am in need of upgrading the video card of my hp pavilion elite hpe-480t but I don't know which is the most powerful nvidia video card compatible with my pc.  Any help would very much appreciated.

I am looking at a EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 8GB Turbo(TURBO-GTX1080-8G). Would this work on this pc?

Regards,

Carlos

@strongbox3d, welcome to the forum.

The GTX 1080 will not be compatible with the motherboard.  It requires UEFI instead of a Legacy/standard BIOS.  HP didn't begin using UEFI until mid-October, 2012.  The BIOS can't be upgraded to UEFI.  I suggest that you choose a manufacturer that you like and contact their Tech Support for help with choosing the best card for your system.  This will save you time and money.  The last cards not to require UEFI are the GTX 660/670 series.
