@Irfan420,

I'm afraid not: opening your desktop should be easy and you can read your power supply's part number/wattage right off the label.

Yes, it's a 300W PSU.

btw I got a GT630 GPU from a friend, What do you think, will it work on my PC without any hassle?

I'm also planning to buy MSI MSG A650BN PSU, I'm afraid it's gonna have some sort of issue with my mobo...

Also looked into i72660 CPU,  I'll save some money for that...

Sequitor, please give me a reply back, I'd highly appreciate it

@Irfan420,

Sorry, the HP Community had a notification issue, which now appears to have been resolved.

Yes, the GT 630 (65-watt TDP) can be powered with your 300-watt power supply.

Why do you think the MSI ATX power supply would create an issue with your HP Pro 3500 Microtower?

And why do you purchase processors via Amazon-AE?  No wonder the sticker (cost) shock: you are paying way more than you should.  I would recommend looking into AliExpress.  For example, the best possible processor for your desktop is the i7-3770K which you can purchase for less than US$50: i7-3770k - Buy i7-3770k with free shipping on AliExpress.

Thank you for replying, Sequitor

I'd love to purchase it from Alibaba, but I'm kinda scared of getting something else from Alibaba (trust Issues lol) but i'll look into it, thanks for showing me another way 🙂

So the new PSI will be powerful enough to handle both new GPU(GT630) and i72660 or i73770k whatever I'm planning to buy when I got the money saved up

@Irfan420,

I quite understand your trust issues -but over the years, purchases via AliExpress have been pleasant, reliable and satisfactory, such as these legacy processors (including an i7-3770K incidentally) I purchased via AliExpress:

I ordered many more processors via PRC Sellers through eBay, btw.

The new 650-watt power supply is more than plenty to power any processor and everything up to an RTX 4070.

You asked, "Why do you think the MSI ATX power supply would create an issue with your HP Pro 3500 Microtower?"

I'm afraid there will be some connecting issues with the mobo (24 pins)  and I hope I can install the PSU in the same position as my old PSU without coming out of its place

another doubt, should I update my bios when I'm installing the GT630?

@Irfan420,

Check here to see if your PC needs any driver/BIOS upgrade(s) to begin with.  It probably wouldn't matter if you got an older BIOS version for the GT 630 to work properly.  Once you installed your GT 630, go to your Windows' "Check for updates", and let Windows update any software if applicable.

Do you have any Supplier you often buy in Alibaba, which you trust that they won't give you some knockoffs? Also, i wanna know the maximum CPU, GPU or any other PC upgrades I can do with this mobo without bricking it for future upgrades 🙂

Thanks for helping me till now and clearing all my doubts, Sequitur. Cant thank you enough!

@Irfan420,

I don't have a preferred AliExpress Seller, I just shop around with the certainty that if a product doesn't work or doesn't arrive, AliExpress has so far refunded me.  Pay a little extra if necessary for trackable mailing.

Max RAM: 2 x 8GB of DDR3 PC3-12800, Non-ECC, Unbuffered, DIMM (UDIMM), 240-pin RAM sticks.

Best CPU: i7-3770K.

Max GPU: as you can see here amongst HP Pro 3500 Microtower Users, there is no limit to graphics cards per se, it depends on the wattage of your power supply and if a GPU fits dimensionally (LxWxH) in your case.

Kind Regards,
