To determine the manufacturing date of your HP keyboard (Model: SK-2565, Part Number: 5185-2027), you can decode the serial number, SC0134021568. HP serial numbers typically follow a format where the 4th, 5th, and 6th characters indicate the year and week of manufacture:
- 4th character: Year (last digit of the year)
- 5th and 6th characters: Week of the year (01 to 52)
In your serial number, the 4th to 6th characters are '340', which suggests:
- Year: '3' could represent 2003, 2013, or 2023.
- Week: '40' indicates the 40th week of that year.
To pinpoint the exact year, consider when you acquired the keyboard. If you purchased it around 2003, 2013, or 2023, the corresponding year would be the most likely manufacturing date. This method aligns with HP's serial number conventions: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/When-was-my-keyboard-manufactur....
For a visual guide on determining the manufacturing date from an HP serial number, you might find this video helpful: https://youtu.be/RwDXuDe2Txs.
Anyway, my best estimate is that it was likely manufactured around 2003 or 2004. This part number aligns with components used in HP desktop systems from the early 2000s.
