Example: Pavilion 500 PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

I have a hp Pavilion 500 PC running Windows 10. I have purchased a hp x4500 wireless mouse. The dongle is plugged into one of the USB ports at the rear of the machine. The mouse works OK for about 15 minutes and then when I use the internet or play games such as Microsoft Solitaire the pointer starts skipping and the eventually freezes. Any suggestions please.

That normally happens when a battery is almost flat.

Replace the battery in the mouse with a new one and let us know how it goes.

Replaced the batteries (Duracell with expiry date 2026) from the pack as suggested, OK for a short while then problem of skipping and freezing returned. Any more suggestions welcomed.

I am having the same problem and have changed the batteries several times but it continues to do the same thing and even will lock up for minutes and jump around like crazy from corner to corner of the screen.
