z820
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello Everyone,

Does anyone have some words of wisdom or tricks up their sleeve on how to remove the RIGHT (as facing the front) side panel of a z820.   I have removed the two torx screws located on the bottom of the chassis - but I can't get the panel to move in any directions.   I found a reference to a link on this site regarding self help videos posted by hp for the z620 (similar case), but the link to the videos is dead.   Can someone out there offer some suggestions?

Some of the instructions I have found on the internet are contradictory - slide panel the  back, slide the panel up, etc etc.

If I have to bang on it with a hammer, I'd like to know which way to apply the force.

TIA,

palustec

Hi:

Did you see this document?

No video links work because the HP service video library has been retired.

Thank you for the link to the document - yes I did see that one.

That was how I found out about the Torx screws.

The panel is stuck extremely well.

Using a block of wood and hammer has failed to budge the panel.

I was hoping to confirm the directions were accurate - and if anyone had access to the "self repair" videos that used to exist on the hp support site.

Happy Holidays,

You're very welcome.

I hope you can figure out the puzzle.

Happy Holidays to you too!
