The error code 0xC0000098 indicates that there is an issue with Windows boot configuration data (BCD). It usually means that some boot entries are missing or corrupted. Here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot and resolve this issue:

Recommended Actions:

Create a Windows Recovery Drive:

Boot from Recovery Drive:

  • Insert the recovery USB drive into the system showing the error.
  • Restart your system and boot from the recovery drive.

Access Command Prompt:

  • In the Windows Recovery Environment, select "Troubleshoot" > "Advanced options" > "Command Prompt".

Rebuild BCD:

  • In Command Prompt, execute the following commands:bootrec /fixmbr bootrec /fixboot bootrec /rebuildbcd
  • Follow any prompts to add Windows installations to the Boot Configuration Data.

Check Disk for Errors:

  • Run chkdsk to check the disk for errors:chkdsk c: /f /r
