Do you get any W11 update error messages? An error message may help to isolate and resolve the W11 update problem.

 

The W11 update should be possible if you are getting the W11 update option.

 

I would open an Admin command prompt by entering "command prompt" in Windows Search. Right click on the search result. Select "run as administrator".

 

Now run the following commands to check system files.

 

DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

 

Then run:

 

sfc /scannow

 

Disconnect unnecessary peripherals. Try the W11 update again if system files are okay. The W11 update may fail if you have unresolvable system file corruption.

 

There are other W11 update options available: trying the W11 Installation Assistant, trying an in-place update using W11 USB installation media or mounting a W11 .ISO download.

 

Or, if these options fail, now back up data. Then do a clean W11 installation using W11 USB installation media.

 

Don't know how far you want to take this.
