I have had this problem for about a month. Tried all the suggestions (moving the Mouse and Keypad USB key, removing same, removing all other USB connections) nothing worked.

Yesterday I was looking at the back of the computer and noticed the power plug was not all the way in. When I pushed the plug all the way in and rebooted the computer no more beeps. This makes sense because I now remember that this happened after I moved my computer to another location and at that time I had to unplug everything and plug it in again and at that time I might not have pushed in the power plug properly.

My thought is that if any plug-in is not fully engaged then the computer beeps to tell you to install the plug properly. That is the reason why removing the keyboard and mouse key or moving same worked.

Just an observation, I hope this helps someone.

Roy67 Your a genius, why on earth doesn't the HP support team know how to fix this....? Pushing the power plug in just 5 more millimetres fixed the stupid beep code issue. I reckon HP knows the basic fix they just want us to call them up and pay for the service if our machines are out of warranty.

Thanks Roy67 such a simple fix.

Thank you for the tip: checking the power supply plug was fully seated solved the beep codes.

The center pin on the power supply plug was bent and did not allow the plug to completely insert into the machine, but was inserted just enough to power on the system.

Thanks!

Pulling out the wireless keyboard/mouse USB adapter and booting back up without it did the trick. When I plugged the adapter into a different USB port, and rebooted, no beeps. Suggested to client she replace both keyboard/mouse just to be sure.

Thanks for sharing. It helped me in resolving the issue. 🙂

Had the same problem.

Like others in this string;  pushed the power plug into the back of the computer better.

Done.

"Is it plugged in; is it turned on."  : )
