I had just got a brand new SSD today (Samsung 980 PRO) which I installed correctly. Everything was fine until I tried to boot up my PC. It gave me an error that read “Hard Disk - (3FO)” along with “Please install an operating system on your hard disk.”
I used system diagnostics and all of my drives passed the test. I then searched up the issue online and restored default settings in BIOS. This didn’t work. I then tried to unplug my hard drives and SSD and plug them back in. Which also did not work. I turned off secure boot and turned on legacy boot and this did not work. I’m completely out of ideas. I would greatly appreciate it if someone could fix this for me. PC Model:

Hi @7eyes
Welcome to the HP Forum.
Did you clone or image the existing operating system to the 980 using Samsung's Data Migration software or other disk imaging software? Do not install Samsung's NVME driver. The 980 runs on the Window's NVME controller.
You will have to install an operating system if the 980 is detected in the Storage Menu in the BIOS and you did not clone or image the 980. Disconnect the 2 TB HDD to avoid installing the operating system on this drive.
You may need a M.2 NVME to USB 3 adapter to clone the OS from the existing SSD to the 980. Check Amazon.
Please enable Secure boot and disable Legacy support in the BIOS.
