Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hi,
I've just installed a new drive, I have been able to get a drive letter assigned to it, but in the Disk Management tool in Windows 7, it is displaying the size of the disk as 746.39 GB, when it is actually 3TB! I really need this space for video editing work. How do I get it to recognize the full disk size? Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Fran

Hi guys, I finally got the drive recognized correctly by Windows. After some searching I found an article stating that this specific problem re: Windows only seeing EXACTLY 746 GB instead of the full 3TB is a common problem and is usually caused by your PC's Intel Rapid Storage Technology drivers being out of date (My HP Z800 Worstation is from 2009). So I searched for the latest IRST drivers online and installed them.

Once the computer was restarted, Windows 7's Disk management tool recognized the full 3TB (2.75TB in reality). And then I noticed that my Optical Drive for DVD/CD is no longer recognized by windows in Windows Explorer! Its just gone! It still works in the way that I can press eject on it and insert DVDs but there's no way I can do anything more than that with it. A problem for another day I guess. Is this something that can be fixed with a Regedit? I'm not sure. Thanks for the advice.
