I am having trouble with my desktop, everytime I turn my tower on the light which is usually light blue indicating that its on turns orange and 5 medium length beeps follow it. I've read that these are Bios beeps indicating that something might be wrong with the ram or dvd rom, but I want to be sure.  I have noticed that the ram that came with the computer doesn't lock in with the two locks on the side of where the ram goes, I hope you know the ones i'm refering to, the ram fits in though it just doesnt lock correctly so its just kinda sits there. Here is a timeline of events on when this started, I had never opened or messed with the computer when the Bios beeps started, they kind of just did, when they did I opened it up to looks inside, but didn't want to mess with anything so I only removed some dust off and closed it back up and turned it on and to my surprised it worked, then a couple minutes later i decided to install a second harddrive and ram I had from another computer, but the ram didn't fit so I ditched that, but when I turned on the computer again the beeping started and so i removed the hardrive I had just installed, but the thing still beeped, i remoed any remaining dust bunnies i saw inside and it still won't start. I hope you guys could give me a little help and advice on what the problem could be, is it the ram, and if so how am I to be fuly positive before I go and buy something I can't afford. Thank you in advance.

@wolfacade, welcome to the forum.

The beeps that you are hearing are BIOS Beep Codes.  Here is a guide that will help you determine what is wrong.  According to the guide it appears that you may have a failed System Board (Motherboard).  However, the ill-fitted memory sticks have me puzzled.  If you didn't get the memory installed correctly this could be the problem.  There are numerous videos online that will help you with the install.
