Hi @Eman28,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you're dealing with a hardware-related issue. Error 502 on HP laptops generally points to a hardware problem, and it can sometimes be related to the battery, but there are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot.
Reset the BIOS:
- Power off your laptop.
- Turn it back on and repeatedly press the ESC key until the Startup Menu opens.
- Press F10 to enter the BIOS setup.
- Once in BIOS, look for an option to "Reset to Default" or "Load Setup Defaults" and select it.
- Save and exit BIOS, then restart your laptop.
Check Hardware Connections:
- If you’re comfortable opening up the laptop, ensure that all internal connections are secure, especially the battery and storage drives.
- Sometimes, loose connections can cause error messages.
Perform a Hard Reset:
- Power off the laptop and disconnect the power adapter.
- If the battery is removable, take it out.
- Hold the power button for about 15-30 seconds to discharge any residual power.
- Reinsert the battery, connect the power adapter, and power on the laptop.
Run Diagnostics:
- HP laptops often have built-in diagnostics tools. Restart your laptop and press ESC repeatedly to access the Startup Menu.
- Select F2 to run the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics.
- Run a full system test to check for any hardware issues.
Update BIOS and Drivers:
- If you can access the laptop, try to update the BIOS and all drivers. Sometimes, outdated firmware or drivers can cause hardware errors.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
