After formatting system hard drive and installing windows 11 and HP Support Manager I seen there was an update for the BIOS F.49 Rev.A, since this was a fresh install I went ahead and installed the update. Once the computer restarted I got a message saying the BIOS was corrupted and to download and make a recovery USB.

So I did just that.. But nothing happens... rather the system seems to go into a reboot cycle, never ending, powers on for a minute then shuts down and restarts the cycle lasting no more then 2? minutes. The USB must be seen and read from as the system does not beep or show anything.

I've tried different USB drives and tried several versions of the BIOS with not luck

cruzer micro 2gb usb 2.0

sandisk 64gb usb 2.0

samsung 128 usb 3.1

Computer I made the recovery USB is running windows 10.

System was fine before the update. To answer the question before its asked as to why I updated the BIOS was doing a system reinstall and thought why not have everything updated.

looking on google - clear cmos, installed new cmos battery, messed with jumpers on motherboard, held down win+b and v.

Side question the jumper next to the battery "FDO" what is the default setting? Trying to look up the manual on the website of course is a dead link. Was messing with it when I changed the cmos battery.

Anything else I can try? Did I miss anything? holding down win+b do anything or was this older systems? Is there a USB port that has to be used? front or back? Can I create my own USB drive with the 0843bf49.bin file?

Any information would be gratefully appreciated.

Thank you

Aaron
