870-224 omen
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Just downloaded a music program to run on my 870-224 omen desktop. been upgrading the thing to an i7 and installing ram. only to find out the MIA SOUND CARD I need to put in lacks a pci slot for it. how do I get around this as it is needed for external equipment hookup . this sucks --- may just have to sell this

It has following slots

 

  • One PCIe (GEN 3) x16 socket  (occupied by NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 (3 GB) )
  • One PCIe (GEN 3) x1 socket
  • One M.2 socket 1, key A  (occupied by Wifi adapter)

You should be able to use the spare PCIe above

 the pci gen 3 x1 spot what need another sound card other than what I have. maybe I can take out the graphics card and put in there
