Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I ADDED a 8GB Memory to my existing 8GB memory, should this show up somewhere as 16GB of memory?  Computer still says 8GB on it, am I looking at it in the wrong place?

Welcome back to the forum.

I am not a HP employee.

You can check Windows memory in Task Manager, Performance or Control Panel, System. Windows will not see the memory if the memory is not detected in the BIOS.

I would guess you may have bought incompatible memory, the memory module is not correctly seated in the correct memory slot, or you may have installed the second stick of memory in an incorrect memory slot.

I forgot the obvious problem; the new memory module could be bad. Remove the HP module. Try only the new module in the memory slot occupied by the HP module to see if the BIOS detects the new module.
