Hi @Work22,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Sorry to hear you're having trouble with your HP Pavilion AIO 24. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the issue.
Check for Updates:
- Ensure that your Windows operating system, drivers, and BIOS are all up-to-date. Sometimes, system hangs can be caused by outdated software.
Run a System Diagnostic:
- Use HP's built-in diagnostic tools to check for hardware issues. You can access these by pressing the F2 key during startup or through the HP Support Assistant application.
Check Task Manager:
- Open Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) to see if any process is consuming excessive CPU, memory, or disk resources. This can help identify if a particular application or background process is causing the problem.
Perform a Clean Boot:
- Boot your computer with a minimal set of drivers and startup programs to see if the issue persists. This can help determine if the problem is caused by third-party software.
Check for Malware:
- Run a full system scan with your antivirus software to rule out any malware or viruses that might be affecting system performance.
Test RAM and Storage:
- Use tools like Windows Memory Diagnostic or MemTest86 to check your RAM for errors. Also, check your HDD or SSD for issues using tools like CrystalDiskInfo or the built-in Windows Check Disk utility.
Check Power Settings:
- Ensure that your power settings are not configured to put the computer into a low-power state that might be affecting performance. Go to Control Panel > Power Options and adjust the settings if needed.
Reinstall Drivers:
- Sometimes, reinstalling or updating drivers, especially for graphics and chipset, can resolve performance issues.
Check Event Viewer:
- Look for any critical errors or warnings in Event Viewer (search for it in the Start menu) that might provide more clues about what's causing the hangs
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
