I am trying to help a friend who's son recently committed suicide. She didn't have access to his pin, and when she tries to login, it is asking for a code that we are unable to access. I was attempting to using the CMD line to delete the disks, because when trying to re-install windows 11, it would not allow it to install the OS from a USB on the disk/partition that was listed.
I know all she would like now is to just factory reset the machine, so that she could use it. Her current computer is on Windows 10, and she can't upgrade, so she is hoping to be able to use his machine going forward.
Somehow, when using the CMD line, it appears I deleted (cleaned) the disk that must have previously had the OS installed on it, so now when I try to boot up it says
Boot Device Not Found
Hard Disk (3F0)
F2 - System Diagnostics

However, I don't think this page is setup for someone that may have "deleted" the operating system, but has information for someone's who has some errors on the hard disk.
Can anyone help me get this thing back up and running with Windows 11?

That error typically means the hard disk is failing, but it can also be caused by something interfering with the boot process.
Most likely you have corrupted the boot loader or erased it.
To verify the situation, run the Diagnostics routine. You should be able to run the Diagnostics routine from the screen that you showed by pressing F2 as prompted. However, if that does not work, use this method.
To run the Diagnostics routine, Start tapping the Esc key BEFORE starting the PC and then press the start button.
Keep tapping the Esc key until a popup menu shows. Then pick Diagnostics from that popup menu, F2.
Report back with the results. Also need the PC model number.
I'm not an HP employee.
