You need to use bluetooth to connect from iPhone to HP system. I use a Bluetooth dongle so possibly there will be some differences
Bring up Bluetooth on HP system and also on the iPhone -> settings -> Bluetooth
on the HP PC Bluetooth dialog box click the "+" and select "Everything Else"
The iPhone and PC will try pairing. The name of the PC (my "oldoffice" will show up on the iPhone.
You may see a QR code show up on the PC. If so, point the iPhone camera to it and wait for the iPhone to show the "click to pair"
Once the pairing is done then go back to iPhone and do the "sync" as shows above. That will copy all your phone contacts to the PC.
Don't forget to disconnect the Bluetooth connection unless you want the audio to be broadcast through the PCs speakers the next time you get a call and are near your PC.

For what it is worth, you can send a text without using a phone as follows
to send a plain text message over AT&T to (123)4567890 you would email
