Microsoft Windows 11

After updating BIO to Softpaq No sp 153988 version F.35 when I reboot the PC the login screen for iCloud comes up. I enter the password, which is correct as it logs in on ipad, I get the verification code from Apple. When I enter the code it returns to the password screen and does not log in, the process just repeats. Can anyone assist please?

Thanks

George

Hi @GeorgeLL,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

The issue you're experiencing with the iCloud login loop after updating the BIOS on your HP Pavilion Desktop PC TP01-2000a could be due to a conflict between the updated BIOS and your system's settings or software, particularly affecting the iCloud login process.

Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:

1. Reset Network Settings:

  • Sometimes, network settings can cause issues with iCloud logins. Resetting the network settings might help.
  • Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Status and select Network reset.

2. Update Apple Software:

  • Ensure that all Apple-related software (like iCloud for Windows) is up to date.
  • Open Apple Software Update on your PC and install any available updates.

3. Reinstall iCloud for Windows:

  • Uninstall iCloud for Windows:
    • Go to Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features.
    • Find iCloud and uninstall it.
  • Reinstall the latest version of iCloud from the Apple website.

4. Check BIOS Settings:

  • Sometimes, after a BIOS update, certain settings may change or need to be reset.
  • Enter the BIOS by pressing the F10 key during startup.
  • Look for any settings related to security, virtualization, or secure boot, and ensure they are configured correctly.

5. Clear Cached Credentials:

  • Sometimes, Windows caches incorrect credentials, causing login loops.
  • Go to Control Panel > User Accounts > Credential Manager.
  • Look for any saved iCloud credentials and remove them.

Please find the remaining steps in the next post.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance

Hi @GeorgeLL,

Please find the remaining steps below.

6. Check Date and Time Settings:

  • Ensure your system's date and time are correct.
  • Go to Settings > Time & Language > Date & time and make sure the time is synchronized with an internet time server.

7. Roll Back the BIOS Update:

  • If the issue started after the BIOS update and the steps above don't resolve it, consider rolling back to the previous BIOS version.
  • Enter the BIOS and look for an option to roll back or flash the previous BIOS version.

8. Apple Support:

  • If the issue persists, it may be specific to how iCloud interacts with Windows after the BIOS update. Contact Apple Support for additional troubleshooting.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
