Hello everyone!
After a recent BIOS update, my monitor stopped working. Until everything was fine. Monitor is connected via USB-C hub, and I double-check on my other devices, it works. I tried to uninstall drivers from device manager, but it did not help at all. What could cause this issue and how I can fix it? (Model: HP ZBook Power 15.6 inch G8)
PS 1: I also updated all my drivers using HP Support Assistant trying to fix it

I looked the graphics spec for your system and it mentions "Thunderbolt Doc G2" as an option.
Is that the USB-C hub listed above?
The most recent bios is 1.16 dated May 11, 2024 and I read the following upgrade notification
"Intel Thunderbolt Firmware, version 15.0.0.0311"
The firmware on the thunderbolt port changed.
According to the service manual port 4 is the one to use for a video display (Thunderbolt).
Port 4 on the other side is HDMI
Connect your USB-C monitor directly into the thunderbolt port and see if it works. If it does not then contact HP and complain about the firmware change

I do not know if it is possible to downgrade the thunderbolt firmware.
Is there a thunderbolt app on your system? I am just guessing: ---
1. Click Start. 2. Type Thunderbolt and click on the search result. 3. In the system tray, right-click the Thunderbolt icon. 4. Click Settings > Details. |
If no actual app look in the device manager for the thunderbolt port and try updating its driver. It is probably an Intel chip and possibly the Windows update can find a newer driver.
Else you may need to downgrade your bios which can be dangerous and on occasion is not possible. I would contact HP and complain about the BIOS updates preventing your hub from not working.
