My desktop turned off while in use and won't come back on.  When I plug in the power supply cord, the light on the back of the computer is on, suggesting there's power to the computer.  What's causing this issue?

Hi @MCJJ1911,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding the Non-Powering All-In-One Desktop!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Confirm Power Cord Connection: Ensure that the power cord is properly connected both to the computer and the power adapter. Try plugging the computer directly into a wall outlet rather than using a surge protector or power strip.

Reset the Computer: Disconnect the power cord from the computer, wait about a minute, and then reconnect the power cord. Try turning the computer on by pressing the power button.

Check Power Button: You might need to press the power button more slowly. Sometimes if pressed too quickly, the computer may fail to register the action properly.

Inspect for Mechanical Failure: If the computer still doesn’t power on, there might be a mechanical issue. It could be a failure internally that might need repair or replacement.

Verify Power Supply: It's possible that the power supply is faulty or not intended for use with your specific model. You may need to contact HP Support to request a suitable power supply.

I hope this helps.
