HP Pavilion All-in-One - 24-xa0024
Microsoft Windows 11

Two year old computer. Used it yesterday. Today it did not turn on. Held power button for 15 secs. Did not turn on. The adapter light is on when plugged in. I used a different outlet no difference. I read online to keep unplugged and hold down power and plug back in. Fan started for 2 seconds then shut down and power light blinking. Now it’s doing nothing. Brough to Best Buy where I bought it. They used an adapter they had for the same computer  and it still didn’t turn on. They said it is the motherboard. Does this make sense? I don’t know what to do or what to think. What happened?

@Jenabee -- I think that BestBuy's diagnosis is correct.

Most failures are either:

1. power-supply

2. processor

3. motherboard

They ruled-out #1. Also, a failure in #2 is not likely. This leaves #3 as the probable failure-point.

Given that you have an All-In-One, that is one year past its original one-year warranty, it is expensive to replace the motherboard, even if you can purchase a very-expensive replacement motherboard

So, all you can do is to "cannibalize" it -- remove & keep the sticks of RAM, remove & keep your disk-drive, because it contains all your Personal Files.  You may connect the disk-drive to your next computer, to copy all your Personal Files onto the new disk-drive.

Maybe, somebody on eBay is looking to replacement their video-screen, with yours.
