HP 24 All in One PC
model 24 - f0300nd
serial nr: Removed
Today when I started the PC, it switched on but the screen remained black.
I tried multiple times and I tried to start up with an external WIndows recovery drive via USB, but I did not get any option to start up via the external disk, so nothing changed.
On the support page there was an instruction video, but this assumed that the PC had started successfully...
How can this be solved? Thanks

Hi @Dhiradj,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding the black screen on HP 24 All-in-One PC!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Perform a Hard Reset:
- Disconnect all peripherals (like printers, USB drives).
- Remove the power cord from the PC and wait for about 15 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cord and turn on the PC.
Check for Display Issues:
- Make sure the display cable is properly connected. If possible, try using an external monitor to determine if the issue is with the internal display.
- Press keys like F2 or F8 during startup to see if the display responds.
Boot into BIOS Menu:
- Turn off the PC, then turn it back on, and immediately start pressing Esc repeatedly to bring up the startup menu.
- If the menu appears, select BIOS settings to check if the screen works there; this can indicate if there’s an issue with Windows rather than the hardware.
Use the HP Hardware Diagnostics:
- You can run HP Hardware Diagnostics which is available outside Windows for testing the screen. When restarting the computer, continuously press F2 until the diagnostic menu appears, then run the tests.
Graphic Driver Issues:
- Outdated or faulty drivers can cause black screen issues. Access the HP Support website using another device, download the latest graphic driver compatible with your PC model, and prepare to install it.
Attempt Safe Mode:
- If you are able to access menus before Windows starts:
- Try booting into Safe Mode by pressing the power button, and then F4 on the advanced options menu.
- Uninstall any recently updated or installed software causing the issue.
Use Power Button Combinations:
- Turn off the PC and disconnect it from the power source. Hold down the power button for 15-20 seconds, reconnect the power, and start the PC.
Check Connections:
- Verify all internal and external connections are secure. This includes RAM, hard drive, and graphics card connections if you're comfortable opening the device.
I hope this helps.
I'm glad I could help! 😊 If this resolved your issue, please mark it as "Accepted Solution" and click "Yes" on "Was this reply helpful?" Your feedback not only keeps us going but also helps others find the solution faster! 👍✨
