Hi out there,

I have a new Compaq Pro 6300 (new to me) and everything works just fine except the audio. The speaker icon has a red " X " on it had when I roll my mouse over it, it tells me there is no output device installed. What does this mean? Anyone?

Hi:

Do you have speakers connected to the light green audio out jack in the back of the PC?

Those models should have an internal speaker as well, so check to make sure the PC speaker is enabled in the BIOS and also check to make sure the PC has an internal speaker and that the wire is connected to the two pin connector on the motherboard.
