HP Z4 G4 Workstation

Running into some OS  issues with multiple Z4 G4 workstations in our environment.

 

This seems to be caused by an Intel Management Engine Software update pushed through by Support Assistant. After installing the update and restarting the machine, it will no longer boot to the OS, often times getting stuck at the HP Sure Start screen for 20+ minutes until forcing an automatic repair. Any OS repair tools/built-in Windows recovery options that I've tried have not made any change.

 

The update in question looks to be sp143014 version 2238.3.31.0.

 

Can anyone advise on if they've seen this issue previously or have any steps to rollback that update outside of the OS?
