Hi

Therefore replace you Hard Disk, and your faith in MS tech's over the excellent answers given here.

9G9H5S-7KJ6G1-MFPNL1-60VK031/1/13303Floppy Drive, Hard Drive, Memory Drive, Optical Drive, SCSI, Tape DriveHard Disk 1 Quick Test Failure

Also check your CMOS/RTC battery, as the date for the test seems to predate the actual PC, by 2 years and 2 months, although that maybe because of any BIOS resets you have done.

The error code translates to an error 303, which is an impending hard disk failure.

It is interesting that it shows the test date as 1/1/13.

That is why the OS is having a hard time booting up.

The hard disk needs to be replaced with a new one and the Windows OS reinstalled in order to resolve the issue.

Is there any alternative solution to this?

Like trying to default my Bios settings or trying to go into desktop mode and trying to a Rollback to my previous graphics drive.I really don’t to spend my money on buying a new hard drive.

Well at times I can gain access to the desktop mode and that’s only possible after a re-installation of the OS

What do you think caused this issue and how do I prevent this in the future?

The diagnostic test said what is wrong with your PC.   Replace the hard disk with a new one.

How do I prevent this kind of failure in the future?Which model

hard disk am I supposed to buy?

HP Recommended

If you're going to do the replacement yourself, just remove the installed hard disk and look at the label. It should be a standard desktop SATA hard disk.

You can't prevent it. Loss of data from a failing hard disk us a risk everyone who has a PC faces. The smart way to minimize the risk us to backup to either an external hard disk or cloud storage.
