Pavilion 6617c
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My BIOS is corrupted. Ive tried holding windows key and B while pressing the power button 2-3 seconds and the BIOS recovery doesn't come up. Ive tried everything.... It powers up but nothing else. Ive removed ram and the board will keep.... I cant seen to find a solution and the machine was running great. I even moved the windows drive to another pc and it works fine.... I cant even find a BIOS for this board. Can anyone help please.

Hi

If you can give the SKU:   and perhaps the Main Board SSID then it may be possible to find another HP product with that same Main Board.

I've been through all of those sites and steps and built a list of possible fixes. None of which I can get to work. I cant get the board to reconize anything peripheral wise. I will try and old windows install disk that would load all drivers and such on to the hdd before it would actually install/operate. I wondered about this today at work.

I am betting the bios link you provided would work but i cant get the board to boot anything ie USB, CD, HDD, ect..... It comes on and runs but no activity that I can see/hear in progressing towards any kind of a boot-up.

I ordered a different board and processor today but i still want to use this as a second machine. There is nothing wrong with it except the bios and I am positive I can get a work around and save the critter. I assume my HP recovery options are non existant now as I cant even get those steps to work.

Is there another USB and/or CD/DVD work around i am not aware of?

Nothing else I can suggest.
