Hi @32-sp,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be happy to help you!
To successfully update the BIOS firmware on your HP ENVY All-In-One - 32-A1050 IDS Base Model, follow these steps carefully. Sometimes, certain procedures or settings can cause the update process to fail. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you troubleshoot and successfully update your BIOS firmware:
Step 1: Prepare for the BIOS Update
Ensure Stable Power Supply:
- Connect your laptop to a reliable power source. Do not attempt a BIOS update on battery power alone.
Backup Important Data:
- Although BIOS updates are generally safe, it’s a good idea to back up any important data before proceeding.
Step 2: Download the BIOS Update Manually
Visit the HP Support Website:
- Go to the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads page.
Identify Your Product:
- Enter your model number (HP ENVY All-In-One - 32-A1050 IDS) and select your operating system.
Download the BIOS Update:
- Find the latest BIOS update under the BIOS section and download it to your computer.
Step 3: Run the BIOS Update
Close All Applications:
- Ensure all other applications are closed before starting the update.
Run the BIOS Update:
- Locate the downloaded BIOS update file and double-click it to run the update.
- Follow the on-screen instructions carefully.
Kindly check the next steps in the next post.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance

Hi @32-sp,
Please find the next set of steps below.
Step 4: Troubleshooting the Update
If the update still shows as "CANCELLED," try the following steps:
Check for Security Software Interference:
- Sometimes, antivirus or security software can interfere with BIOS updates. Temporarily disable your antivirus software and try running the update again.
Run the Update in Safe Mode:
- Restart your computer and enter Safe Mode.
- Try running the BIOS update from Safe Mode.
Use HP Support Assistant:
- Download and install the HP Support Assistant.
- Open HP Support Assistant and check for updates. It should detect and install the BIOS update if available.
Step 5: Perform the Update via USB (If Necessary)
If the above steps fail, you can perform the BIOS update using a USB flash drive:
Create a Bootable USB Drive:
- Format a USB flash drive to FAT32.
- Copy the BIOS update file to the USB flash drive.
Enter BIOS Setup:
- Restart your computer and repeatedly press Esc or F10 to enter the BIOS setup.
Update BIOS from USB:
- In the BIOS setup menu, find the option to update the BIOS.
- Select the USB flash drive and follow the instructions to complete the update.
Additional Tips:
- Ensure the BIOS Update File is Compatible:
- Double-check that the BIOS update file you downloaded is specifically for your HP ENVY All-In-One - 32-A1050 IDS model.
If these steps still do not resolve the issue, contact HP Phone Support directly for further assistance
