I am attempting to update my BIOS from F.42 to F.45.  I've tried both through the Support Assistant and through directly downloading the file from the HP website but I keep getting the error "086F3F45 There is not enough free disk space to complete the System BIOS and Device Firmware update operation. Delete some files to free disk space and retry again.", despite having over 252 GB of free storage.  What could be the issue?

Hi @SuperSEGAGamer,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd like to help!

Try updating the Bios using the method in the article: Click here

<update the bios when Windows does not start>

using a bios recovery USB disc.

The bios management, by default, was looking for bios files on partition 2 (EFI partition).

I believe this is where the problem was.. "not enough disc space"

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

When doing Step 3. Sections 3-5 ("3. Insert the USB flash drive that contans the BlOS update into an avalable USB port on the computer.  4. If prompted, select yourlanguage.  5. Click Firmware Management or BIOS Management on the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI screen.") inserting the USB doesn't seem to change anything and there is no such option for Firmware Management or BIOS Management on the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI screen.  (Attached is an image of the screen I recieved after striking F2 on the Startup Menu).
