HP Z800 Workstation
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi, I have an HP  z800 desktop workstation with dual processors running win 10 64 bit os.  I wish to upgrade my  GFX card to a Palit GeForce RTX 3060 12 GB card.

My z800 has an 1100-watt PSU and a two-cable harness for additional card power for gfx cards.

I have 3 q's

firstly the Bios which the RTX  card requires UEFI to work. If I upgraded the system bios from 3.60 to v 3.61 would this allow UEFI .?

secondly, the power cords are 6 pins and the connector on the card is an 8 pin ( p10 and P11). Providing the bios issue can be overcome would I need to buy a cable that would combine the power from both of these leads, or would one 6- 8 pin converter suffice, the card states a 170-watt operating power.

Thirdly if I installed and run a UEFI bios would this prevent my installed operating system from working as it was built within a legacy environment.

any help with the above would be really appreciated as I really would like to hang onto the z800 if poss as it's a really solid workhorse.

Thanks

David
