Hi @fraros,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

A black screen on your HP ENVY 32-inch Media Display can be caused by various issues, including connectivity problems, display settings, or hardware faults. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try to fix it.

Check Cable Connections:

  • Ensure that the video cables (HDMI, DisplayPort, etc.) are securely connected to both the monitor and the computer.
  • Try a different cable if possible, as the cable could be faulty.

Test with Another Device:

  • Connect the monitor to another computer or device to see if the issue persists. This will help you determine whether the problem lies with the monitor or your original device.

Monitor Input Source:

  • Press the Input or Source button on the monitor's buttons (or use the monitor’s OSD menu) to ensure that the correct input source (e.g., HDMI, DisplayPort) is selected.

Power Cycle the Monitor:

  • Unplug the monitor from the power outlet, wait for 30 seconds, and plug it back in. This can sometimes resolve minor glitches.

Brightness and Contrast Settings:

  • Verify that the brightness and contrast settings are not set too low. You can adjust these through the monitor's on-screen display (OSD) settings.

Update Graphics Drivers:

  • If you're connecting to a computer, ensure that your graphics drivers are up to date.

Monitor Self-Test:

  • Some monitors, including HP ones, have a self-test feature. Disconnect the signal cable and turn on the monitor. If it displays a message (such as "No signal"), the monitor is likely functioning correctly, and the issue is with the device sending the signal.

Reset the Monitor Settings:

  • You can reset the monitor to its factory default settings through the OSD menu.

Test with a Different Power Outlet:

  • Plug the monitor into a different power outlet or power strip, in case there's an issue with the power supply.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
