HP Omen 30L
Microsoft Windows 11

Experiencing BSOD forced restart while playing valorant, only started happening as I reinstalled valorant (possibly corrupted driver remnants?) including their anticheat kernal level Vanguard by Riot. I've done ever forum trick, UDD uninstalled valorant, riot vanguard, intel and nvidia drivers, and reinstalled fresh. Still having stability issues, driving me crazy. Ive done windows memory test extended for 6 hours 32gbs and no problems detected. I'm at my wits end here. I had a BIOS update that I performed recently as well, my ram failed a cpl years ago and replaced with HP compatible sticks but no issues per windows mem test.

Hi @OMEN30L-NPR,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP Omen 30L is experiencing BSOD and forced restarts while playing Valorant, even after reinstalling the game, Riot Vanguard, and all drivers. Since memory tests and hardware appear fine, this may be related to driver conflicts or BIOS settings.

Check Event Viewer

Press Windows + X → Event Viewer → Windows Logs → System.

Look for errors around the time of the BSOD to identify the specific driver or service causing the crash.

Update BIOS & Chipset Drivers

Ensure the latest BIOS, Intel chipset, and NVIDIA GPU drivers are installed from HP Support.

Sometimes fresh installs do not overwrite old system driver remnants, so a clean driver install using Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) in Safe Mode can help.

Disable Overclock / XMP / Fast Boot

Enter BIOS and temporarily disable XMP, any RAM overclocking, or Fast Boot settings.

Restart and test stability while playing Valorant.

Check for Windows Corruption

Open Command Prompt as Administrator → run sfc /scannow and DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth.

Test Without Vanguard

If possible, test the game or another intensive app without Riot Vanguard to see if kernel-level drivers are causing instability.

I hope this helps.
