Hi @ivan168,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

The issue you're experiencing with your HP Pavilion 15 Laptop PC 15-Eh2000 (4V3L7AV) regarding the BSOD (Blue Screen of Death) when waking from sleep, along with the IOMMU (Input-Output Memory Management Unit) error, suggests a potential issue with your system's hardware or drivers. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

1. Update Drivers

  • Update All Drivers: Ensure all your drivers are up to date, especially chipset, graphics, and storage drivers.
    • Visit the HP Support website and download the latest drivers for your specific laptop model.
    • You can also use a driver update tool to automate the process, but be cautious and use reputable software.

Update BIOS

  • Update BIOS: An outdated BIOS can sometimes cause compatibility issues.
    • Visit the HP Support website, enter your laptop model, and check for any available BIOS updates.
    • Follow the instructions provided by HP to safely update the BIOS.

Check Power Settings

  • Adjust Power Settings: Incorrect power settings can cause issues when waking from sleep.
    • Go to Control Panel > Power Options.
    • Select Change plan settings next to your selected power plan.
    • Click Change advanced power settings.
    • Under Sleep, set Allow hybrid sleep to Off and Hibernate after to Never.

4. Disable Fast Startup

  • Disable Fast Startup: Fast startup can sometimes cause issues with certain hardware configurations.
    • Open Control Panel > Power Options.
    • Click Choose what the power buttons do.
    • Click Change settings that are currently unavailable.
    • Uncheck Turn on fast startup and click Save changes.

Check for Windows Updates

  • Install Windows Updates: Ensure your Windows operating system is up to date with the latest patches and updates.
    • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
    • Click Check for updates and install any available updates.

6. Run Windows Memory Diagnostic

  • Check Memory: Faulty RAM can cause BSODs.
    • Press Windows + R, type mdsched.exe, and press Enter.
    • Choose Restart now and check for problems.
    • The system will reboot and run the memory diagnostic.

7. Run System File Checker and DISM

  • Check System Files: Corrupted system files can lead to BSODs.
    • Open Command Prompt as an administrator.
    • Run sfc /scannow and wait for the process to complete.
    • If issues are found and resolved, restart your laptop.
    • Next, run DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth to repair the system image.

Check Event Viewer for Detailed Logs

  • Analyze Event Viewer: Review the Event Viewer logs for detailed error information.
    • Press Windows + X and select Event Viewer.
    • Navigate to Windows Logs > System and look for any critical errors around the time of the BSOD.

9. Disable IOMMU in BIOS

  • Disable IOMMU: If the issue persists and you're comfortable with making BIOS changes, you can try disabling IOMMU.
    • Restart your laptop and enter the BIOS/UEFI settings (usually by pressing F10, F2, Del, or Esc during boot).
    • Look for settings related to IOMMU (sometimes under Advanced or Chipset).
    • Disable IOMMU, save changes, and exit the BIOS.

Perform a Clean Boot

  • Clean Boot: A clean boot can help identify if a startup program is causing the issue.
    • Press Windows + R, type msconfig, and press Enter.
    • Go to the Services tab, check Hide all Microsoft services, and click Disable all.
    • Go to the Startup tab and click Open Task Manager.
    • Disable all startup items, close Task Manager, and click OK in the System Configuration window.
    • Restart your laptop and see if the issue persists.

11. Reinstall Windows

  • Reinstall Windows: As a last resort, consider performing a clean installation of Windows.
    • Back up all important data.
    • Use a Windows installation media (USB or DVD) to perform a clean install.

If the problem persists after trying these steps, it may be a more complex hardware issue. In that case, contacting HP Support or taking the laptop to a service technician for further diagnosis and repair might be necessary.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
