Product: HP 15-ac103na Laptop, Intel Core 13, 8GB RAM, 1TB, 15.6"
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 in S Mode

Battery looks fully charged when connected to power but recently when used without power lead charge has gone down after about 30 mins and has to be reconnected.  Laptop is about 5 years old.

Laptop batteries lose their ability to hold a charge over time.  Sounds like yours had done this already -- and needs to be replaced.  Every laptop I support that is 5 years old or more has a new battery in it.
