HP Flagship pro desktop 2018 - HP 6300 Pro
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am applying for a position which requires my PC to be UEFI capable.  However, I did a pc test and mine is BIOS (Legacy) and  is dated for the year 2013.  Is it possible to upgrade my BIOS to UEFI?

Hi:

The 6300 Pro has a UEFI BIOS.

The OS is probably installed in Legacy mode which is why the report you ran is indicating that.

You have to install Windows in EFI mode.

Here is a HP whitepaper which shows you how to identify your PC as having a UEFI BIOS.

See the illustration on page 5.

Hi:

Please post the product number of the PC.

Use this guide to find that information...please do not post the serial number.

Unfortunately, the PC test software that employer is using is not detecting UEFI ...So I guess i lose ....lol

I have the older HP 6200 Pro (2nd gen core processor), and mine has a UEFI BIOS.

As a matter of fact, I just installed W10 Pro in EFI mode on it last week.

Hmmm...I also just found out it cannot be over 5 years old

It's definitely over 5 years old.

It most likely was manufactured in 2012 - 2013.

Check the 4th number in the serial number.  If it is a 2, then it was built in 2012.  If it is a 3, then it was built in 2013.
