I believe that your computer originally came with Win 7 installed.

If this is correct, you won't be able to update the BIOS in Win 10 with the available BIOS updates.

They are for Win 7.

I agree with the fact that Windows 7 was factory-installed.

I disagree with the claim that BIOS updates are "tied" to a specific operating system.

BIOS update are BIOS updates, whether you boot into Windows or into some Linux variant.

The "Meltdown" and "Spectre" vulnerabilities are an example of a vulnerability in the BIOS, no matter what operating system is installed.  So, Intel & HP created & released BIOS updates.

From:  HP Pavilion p7-1207c Desktop PC

I see no BIOS updates.

Perhaps, running the HP Support Assistant will identify, download, and install a BIOS update.

Hi @old_geekster, i completely agree with you. I did run HP support Assistant no updates at all. It just sucks my computer along with others need BIOS updates. And HP removes them witch makes things not work right or put our systems security at risk. Yeah I know my computer is old around 2010 or 2011 when it came out but still we need BIOS updates along with other updates for system stability and security. Thank you for helping me with my problem. -Shawn

@shawn4760, I understand what you are saying.  However, HP didn't remove the updates, they simply aren't developing updates.  You have to understand that they have hundreds of new models to support and it is a tedious procedure to make BIOS updates, especially.
