My friend borrowed my computer and now the CAPs lock blinks two times then pause and repeats. It's a bios failure and I did what was listed for support and downloaded a recovery USB. My issue now is that no matter how many time I hold the windows key+ B or V and hold the power for 2-3 seconds, the screen stays black so it never reads the USB. I know that my screen is not broken because once before the bios screen came up months ago.
Can anyone help? I have not been unable to use my laptop in over 8 months and I am trying to avoid another expense right now since I am starting back at school.

Hi
Please 1st try a Hard Reset
Press and Hold the PWR off button for 4 seconds to force a PWR off.
Unplug from the wall.
If you see a battery compartment door, your computer has a removable battery.
Remove any removable battery.
This is valid for most notebooks;
Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds to complete the reset.
Re-insert any battery you removed.

Turn off the notebook.
Plug the notebook into a power source using the power adapter.
With the notebook off, press and hold the Windows logo key and the B key at the same time (WinKey +B).
NB: On some notebook models, it might be necessary to press and hold the Windows logo key and the V key (WinKey +V).
While pressing those keys, press and hold the Power button on the computer for 2 to 3 seconds, and then release the Power button but continue to hold the Windows logo key and the B or V key until the HP BIOS update screen displays or you hear a beeping sound (usually 8 beeps).
You download...

and then create the Flash Drive.
Have you tried to copy...

Hi
That is the same download I did on the flashdrive and nothing is working. Whenever I press the window + B or V keys and the power key, the screen stays black and it never gets to the bios update screen. I removed the battery, counted and plug back in the power cord but nothing seems to work. Caps Lock is still blinking and the internet button has a orange light on.

I copied from the Current FOlder to the new folder, but nothing is happening. Again, all I see is a black screen with the CAPS lock blinking and the internet light on orange. I don't hear a fan or anything. Before all I hear is silence, I did see one time that the screen came up and said bios failure.
I copied the file directly from Current to New
