Hello. So I have an envy 750-624. Worked good booted etc but I wanted to enter uefi bios to check clock speeds etc on my i7 7700K. Every time I went to the restart the computer after hitting uefi restart now. I just got a blank screen. Over and over as I would have to force power down but then it would start normal and run normal but I could not get into bios. I used the process of settings, recovery and restart now to get to troubleshooting page to get to uefi menu. When I go to restart From uefi restart now It just is a blank black screen. Still getting input signal but no display as my monitor is awake when on but no display. So I figured I had a bios issue once it wouldn’t load into it. I started diagnosing and changed the cmos battery and kept it out for a while to drain all power, did the pin cross over on the mother board to clear cmos. Went to turn back on and now I’m stuck at the blank screen with no display. I’ve tested the blank screen in between each test with nothing making any change. I didn’t do multiple things at once to try to determine and test the system. Between each different thing I tested I tried a start up to see if it changed anything. Computer runs but will beep 2 short and 2 long beeps after a period of time. I believe this is a Bios error when looking it up. I’ve tried holding windows B and it just proceeds to beep 8 times but the bios update screen never comes up. Even tried windows key + V as some suggested. I’ve downloaded the latest bios for my motherboard (bara 83C1) on a usb to try to reinstall and update the bios that way. Blank usb formatted correctly with no other data on it except the Hp files. On HP there is 2 bios for my model. One for Rom ssid 8399 and one for 83C1 but when I look up my model and info it states ssid 83C1 so that is the file I used. Yes I pressed the power button for 2-3 seconds and kept holding the windows key + b or v depending on test upon start up. B usually puts me to 8 beeps. Still no change as when I put in the usb with all the hp bios files as it does not change the outcome of any of the tests. Still blank screen even after a long time waiting on it. Does this mean my mother board has failed? If so I’ll probably just upgrade to another brand with a easier bios to access and use. Any help would be appreciated thank you!
