Cant upgrade BIOS to F.43 version. Is this a common problem? All other BIOS updates prior to this one worked fine. Thx

You are welcome, @RemcoNL.

It is definitely not a virus.  You should disable your virus app until it is installed.  I have seen this happen in the past.

What is the full model or product number of your computer?  Please don't furnish the Serial # or other personal information.

@RemcoNL, welcome to the forum.

The way HP lists the BIOS updates in their update section is a bit confusing.  They list several BIOS updates for other computers that may use the same motherboard, but different BIOS updates.

The BIOS update that you should use is here.  Your Motherboard has the ROM Family SSID 8437.  Here is the Motherboard Specification page.  Look at the section titled "Motherboard description".
