Dear

on my HP AIO 3520 there is a bios issue (error during flash  update), now the pc doesn't start and it beeps 8 times, blank screen, nothing to do also resetting jumper on mainboard, remove cmos battery ecc...

I need your help to find the correct procedure to create an usb recovery disk to flash the bios. I read the procedure on the hp support website but it is not accurate for my device (I mean, the bios file for my device that you can download from product support page, it does not contain the procedure to create an usb recovery disk but it starts immediately to flash the bios, so it does not work). But, maybe, there is way to create an usb disk with another bios file then to replace the image of the bios with the correct one for my device?

Thanks

Best

Hi

More than 1 possibility.

(ROM) problem,

Perform BIOS recovery with external media (USB/CD-ROM).

There are several BIOS downloads, for SSID  2AED or  2AF0 you need the correct one.

If in doubt please ask.

I guess this is what you already tried?
Hopefully one of these documents will cover (and solve) your problem...

https://support.hp.com/ca-en/document/c00042629
https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02693833

Turn off the computer, and then connect the power cord.
Press and hold the Windows key and the B key at the same time, and then press and hold the power button for 2 to 3 seconds.
Release the Power button but continue pressing the Windows and B keys. You might hear a series of beeps.
The HP BIOS Update screen displays and the recovery begins automatically. Follow any on-screen prompts to continue the startup to complete the recovery.
HP BIOS Update recovery in progress

If the HP BIOS Update screen does not display, repeat the previous steps but press the Windows key and the V key. If the screen still does not display, your computer might not support the feature or there is a hard drive issue. Continue to the next step to install a BIOS recovery file from the HP website.
If the Power light turns off, the Power button was held too long. Repeat the previous steps, making sure to hold the button for only 2 to 3 seconds.

Hello

I already read the usb recovery procedure but there is not any bios for 3520 that support the usb disk creation. So the questioni is still open, there is a way to use a different bios to create an usb disk then  to put inside the correct firmware for hp 3520?

Thx

Hi

Yes Copy and Paste.

Because you wont/dont tell me what Board SSID you have, how can I give you the sequence?

Like download the softpaq, like I did.

Open/Extract the internal files with  7Zip like I did.

Copy them to a USB, preferably a bootable one, that I didn't go as far as.

So while you do not want to help me help you.

BYE.

The procedure is still the same.....

https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-pro-all-in-one-3520-pc/5299218

Select Freedos as the OS.

Download   File name:  sp60272.exe

Open/Extract using 7 ZIP to a local directory or direct to a USB.

Copy the 6 files to a USB or whatever you have.

21/12/2012 14:11 69 flash.bat
07/11/2012 15:52 225,664 FWUpdLcl.EXE

21/12/2012 15:23 1,216 sp60272.cva

Boot from it , or something similar, and run the exe or bat file appropriately.

BAT file is 2 lines.

FWUpdLcl -F ME811336.BIN -allowsv
SAFUWIN LEE_811.ROM /P /B /N /R /K

Make a Bootable Windows 10 USB, add in the 6 flash files.

Boot from it.

Command prompt is X:

CD to the BIOS folder and voila.

Ho Lil

Thanks for your help but as I wrote my PC does not boot, when I turn on,I hear only 8 beeps, screen black.

But I want to follow your suggeestion, I put the files info an usb bootable drive then? I tried with win+b, ctrl+home, but nothing. Are you sure that copy and paste the files info an usb drive is enough?

Thanks
