Hi @fgjffj,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like the BIOS update process might have failed or corrupted, which has caused your HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop PC to fail to boot. Here's what you can do to attempt recovery.

Perform a BIOS Recovery:

  • HP desktops typically have a BIOS recovery feature. Follow these steps:
    1. Power off the computer and disconnect all external devices except for the keyboard and mouse.
    2. Press and hold the Windows key + B (or sometimes Windows key + V).
    3. While holding those keys, press the power button for 2-3 seconds, then release it, but continue holding the keys.
    4. If the recovery mode is triggered, the computer should beep, and you may see a BIOS recovery screen. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Create a BIOS Recovery USB Drive: If the above doesn't work, you can create a BIOS recovery USB:

  • Use another working computer to download the latest BIOS update for your model from the HP support website.
  • Extract the BIOS files to a USB drive (formatted to FAT32).
  • Insert the USB drive into your PC and try the Windows key + B method again.

Check the Power Supply:

  • Ensure the power supply is working correctly. A failing power supply can sometimes appear as a dead system after a BIOS update.

Inspect the RAM and Components:

  • Power down the system and remove/reseat the RAM sticks.
  • Ensure no other hardware components (e.g., GPU or storage drives) were disturbed during troubleshooting.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hey @fgjffj,

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're stoked to have you on board! 😀

The CH341A is a popular USB-to-serial adapter commonly used for flashing BIOS chips, repairing firmware, or programming EEPROMs. Whether you must buy it depends on your specific needs. This tool is especially useful for hardware repair tasks, such as reprogramming BIOS or EEPROM chips.

If you're interested in purchasing the CH341A, feel free to reply here! I'd be happy to help further if needed.

We're looking forward to helping you get back up and running! 😇
