I was asked to restart my laptop in order install new system updates. When I did this, I was directed to a start up page asking me for a Bit Locker Recovery Key. After days and hours speaking to various technicians and Microsoft, I was told that this is in fact a HP issue as there are no Bit Locker Recovery Keys linked to my Microsoft accounts and this is a something  triggered by the TPM.
is there someone at HP who can assist me please?

Hello

I just created a post about this https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Operating-Systems-and-Recovery/Device-Encryption-using-Windows...

I can't provide a solution. I have never troubleshooted this error. I don't know if you can reinstall the operating system without the BitLocker recovery key. I don't use or need BitLocker. Data recovery is probably non-existent without the BitLocker recovery key.

This post may be shut down because it looks like a password problem.

HP Support may help if you are in warranty. No warranty support will probably cost money to fix unless someone else in the forum can assist.

HP should notify users when this condition exists and provide appropriate remediation (back up the recovery key as soon as possible) to prevent this problem.
