Hp all in one desktop

After logging into my account, my homescreen is black and I can only see the mouse. When I restart it, it takes a long time for it to come back up. I just dad an update a week or 2 ago and it hasn't been right since.

That could be a symptom of a "failing" disk-drive.

If Windows is unable to load your "profile" (your wallpaper and desktop icons), possibly due to disk-drive problems, it tries to load an "emergency" desktop.

Restart your HP computer, and immediately start tapping the ESC key, until you see a menu. On that menu, launch the HP Hardware Diagnostics, and choose to run the "short" (about one minute) DST (Disk Drive Status Test). If you get a "fail", you definitely need to replace the disk-drive.

There might be enough "residual" life in your disk-drive to make a backup of your personal files.
