Whenever I'm not using my laptop for a few minutes, instead of it going into sleep, it just turns into a blue screen. Therefore, I can't let it go to sleep since it does this every few minutes and I have to restart it afterwards. I've had this issue for more than a year now. I'm really frustrated and already tried a couple of things to repair it, but nothing seems to help.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Hi @SaraBasha
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
That sounds really frustrating! A "Critical Process Died" blue screen can be caused by a few different issues. Here are some steps you can take to try to resolve it:
Check for Windows Updates: Make sure your operating system is up to date. Sometimes updates include important fixes for stability issues.
Update Drivers: Outdated or corrupt drivers can cause this issue. Use Device Manager to check for updates, especially for graphics, network, and chipset drivers.
Run System File Checker: Open Command Prompt as an administrator and run the command sfc /scannow. This will scan for and attempt to repair corrupted system files.
Check for Disk Errors: You can also run a disk check. In Command Prompt, type chkdsk /f /r and follow the prompts. You may need to restart your laptop.
Disable Fast Startup: Sometimes, fast startup can cause issues. Go to Control Panel > Power Options > Choose what the power buttons do, then uncheck "Turn on fast startup."
Check for Malware: Run a full scan using Windows Defender or another reputable antivirus program to ensure that malware isn't causing the problem.
Adjust Power Settings: Go to Power Options and set your laptop to a balanced or power saver plan instead of high performance.
Clean Boot: Perform a clean boot to see if a background application is causing the issue. Instructions for this can be found in the Microsoft support documentation.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
