Blue screen Stop Code : bad configuration

HP Recommended
Pavilion p6-2033w series
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

I'm not a tech guru, so trying to figure this all out is difficult.  PC was working ok this morning, but was lagging..going really slow. So I shut it down to restart and a blue screen saying error: start code bad configuration . Automatic repair couldn't fix it, now it says: D:\windows\sysytem32\logfiles\Srt\SrtTrail.txt.

Need help..my wife works from home now. Thank you

I have gone through your Post and would like to help

 

Please run a System Test to confirm the Hardware Functionality

 

- Shut down the Notebook completely
- Turn it back on, then tap the Esc key repeatedly until the Startup menu screen is displayed.
- Press F2 to select System Diagnostics.
- Click System Tests, then click Extensive Test.
