Pavilion desktop 590
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I installed about 4 updates via HP Support Assistant. This included a BIOS update. Now, 10 minutes and around 5 seconds after the computer finishes starting up, the blue screen (BSOD) appears with code SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION. This blue screen occurs *every time* after booting. It is consistent. I tried to roll back the BIOS update, but the BIOS gives an error, with the two different methods I've tried.

@User_W
Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:

Bios Recovery using a keypress combination:

  1. Turn off the computer, and then connect the power cord.
  2. Press and hold the Windows key and the B key at the same time, and then press and hold the Power button for 2 to 3 seconds.
  3. Release the Power button but continue pressing the Windows and B keys. You might hear a series of beeps.

If this recovery method fails, use another working computer to create a BIOS recovery flash drive to install the latest BIOS file.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
