OMEN 30L Desktop - GT13-0255st CTO
Microsoft Windows 11

Operating an OMEN 30L Desktop GT13-0xxx, system went to black screen, Boot Device Not Found - Hard Disk - (3FO).   Attempted Bios recovery failed.   Ran Hardware Diagnostics UEFI.    Hard Disks Passed full test, Memory Failed - message Memory Quick Check: Failed - Failure ID PU7F3F-AK5BJ8-QFFV4J-40XA03, Memory Module 3 DIMM3

My question, if I replace Module 3, any guidance on recovery steps or process after memory module is replaced?

hi

the two problems are not the same in general
finally if you only have a memory problem, it may work afterwards
no precision here, compared to the model because configurable, so see if you have two modules, test with one then the other

So, I determined and replaced the defective memory module.    It did not resolve the issue.   3FO error continues,

Additional steps I've taken,

- repeated all Hardware diagnostics - all passed

- reset bios using keystroke method - did not fix error

- unable to locate cmos battery to do a cmos reset, I suspect it's hidden beneath the Nvidea Geoforce Board

- going to attempt a windows reinstall later this evening

if nothing changes, the system disk probably needs to be replaced
if you followed correctly what is mentioned here
at some point you must have checked the status of the hard drive, if present, and then attempted a factory recovery..
as mentioned in my answer, if nothing works with what is stated in the links, then you definitely need to replace your system disk
1:Open the Component Tests menu when Windows won't start
When Windows won't start, use the following instructions to open the Component Tests menu.
Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.
Turn on the computer and immediately press esc repeatedly, about once every second. When the menu is displayed, press the f2 key.
On the main menu, click Component Tests.
Perform hard drive tests in HP PC Hardware Diagnostics
you speak at a moment of memory?
is it the system hard drive test, or the ram memory test that failed here?
test ok

Restore BIOS default settings
To restore the BIOS default setting, open the BIOS Setup screen.
https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c06201699
The computer stops responding and displays this message: Boot Device Not Found 3F0.
Procedure 4: Perform F11 Recovery, or restore the system using HP recovery media.
Reinstall Windows 10 on the hard drive
Reinstall Windows through the Windows Recovery Environment (f11) or using the HP Cloud Recovery Tool.

Thanks for the guidance.

Yes, ran a full set of hardware diagnostics.

CPU passed

All drives passed a quick test and a full test

All memory passed test

Keyboard passed

Language correct / passed

Automatic windows trouble shooting unable to repair

Omen self repair unsuccessful

Now it's on to a reinstall of windows as next step.
