Try this ...

1. remove all usb and any other external components/joystick/game pads = all; excluding Keyboard and mouse (if/where applicable).

2. power off everything and remove wall plug/turn-off wall switch (if/where applicable).

3. replace wall plug (make sure it is in/snug/not loose), connect power lead to computer, turn-on wall power ...

4. press computer power button and listen/watch the keyboard lights (if keyboard has lights) ...

 4.1 after 5~10 seconds you should hear the PS/CPU fans kick-in and the keyboard lights should flicker, go one or blink three times ...

 4.2 press and hold (once) - either the F9 or F10 keyboard keys ... then wait;

 4.3 the HP Bios/configuration menu should appear ... follow the instructions (exactly), go into the boot options and make sure HDD/SSD = C: is the first boot/primary boot source, or Smart array Controller (@ 1 or 2 - if you have SAC  ; ... then press <esc> to come out of that screen/option set and select the BOOT ORDER sub menu. In BOOT ORDER, make sure your HDD/SSD (drive C:) is first in line. If it is not, select/set it as first boot order. Press <esc> again (come out of the sub menu). At main options menu press F10 ... To save the options and boot the system ...

 Do not press/touch anything else - just leave it alone. It is likely Windows will need to recover - so expect a blank/dark screen and/or screen with the circulating dots (= windows system doing reconfiguration processes).

 Leave it alone. Do not touch the keyboard or mouse. Do not power-off.

 The windows activity side may take 1~4 hours, depending on how scrabbled it is. 95% of the time it will recover itself - if left alone to complete the processes.

note: If in the HP Bios screen/menu it does not show a primary hard drive (HDD) or solid state drive (SSD); then it means you have a critical (fatal) hard drive problem (its dead). The HDD/SSD will need replacing, then you need reinstall the Windows 10x operating system.

 Where your HP computer is under warranty - and the HDD/SSD has failed - contact the vendor you purchased the unit from, or nearest HP Agent ... to have the unit repaired under warranty.

Also - Games are games. Computers are not games/clickers ... so do not "spam" <ESC> or other keyboard command keys - without expecting to damage/confuse the OS and cause critical failures.

Cheers,

Rick

Nb. Clarification:

"Press and Hold (once) the F9 or F10 Key" ... means hold = three (3) to five (5) seconds ... then release (no longer/no repeats)

 The F9 key make run some bios -post messages, then offer three selections once completed. F10 will be there. Press F10 once, then follow steps from 4.3 onward.
