Today I could not start my computer. I was first presented with a request for the bitlocker recovery key which I entered. It them went into automatic repair, then when complete showed the hp logo and froze. I restarted and ran diagnostic tests which all passed. I attempted to restart and recover to a prior recovery point but none had been set.
I do not have recovery discs since the unit can preloaded. I presume there is a recovery partition though I do not know how to access it. If there is not a partition, I also do not know how to recover the OS though I do have an OS recovery code.
All assistance appreciated.

hi @Peteg256
Welcome back.
BitLocker is a can of worms. You can't recover data if the BitLocker recovery key fails.
Your PC qualifies for HP Cloud Recovery. Check this HP Site for details.
Go to Device Encryption in Control Panel after doing a cloud recovery.
Disable Device Encryption on all drives to avoid future BitLocker problems.
I have been using Windows Pro editions since Windows NT. I never use BitLocker.
