Hi @OsamaSaleem,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand a brand-new laptop is running slow, especially when it's supposed to be powerful.

Here are some steps you can take to try and improve the performance of your HP Laptop 15-fd0011nx:

1. Check for Windows Updates

Ensure your laptop is up to date with the latest Windows updates:

  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
  • Click Check for updates and install any available updates.

2. Update Drivers

Outdated or missing drivers can cause performance issues. Update your drivers, especially the graphics and chipset drivers:

  • Visit the HP Support website and enter your laptop model number (15-fd0011nx).
  • Download and install the latest drivers for your laptop.

3. Disable Startup Programs

Too many programs running at startup can slow down your laptop:

  • Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
  • Go to the Startup tab and disable any unnecessary programs.

4. Check Background Processes

Background processes can consume a lot of resources:

  • In Task Manager, check the Processes tab for any programs using high CPU, memory, or disk.
  • Right-click on any unnecessary process and select End task.

5. Optimize Storage

If your storage is nearly full, it can slow down your laptop:

  • Go to Settings > System > Storage.
  • Use the Storage Sense feature to automatically free up space by deleting temporary files and managing locally available cloud content.

6. Check for Malware

Malware or viruses can significantly slow down a laptop:

  • Run a full scan using Windows Security (formerly Windows Defender) or another trusted antivirus program.

7. Adjust Power Settings

Make sure your laptop is set to a high-performance power plan:

  • Go to Settings > System > Power & sleep > Additional power settings.
  • Select the High performance power plan.

8. Reset Your Laptop

If the above steps don’t help, you can consider resetting your laptop to its factory settings:

  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Recovery.
  • Under Reset this PC, click Get started and follow the instructions.

Refer to this document:  HP Laptop 15-fd0011nx User manual

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
